Saint Lous AssemblySign Painting
Right Way Signs of Chicago had the pleasure of working on this large sign painting and mural project right outside the Fulton Market in Chicago. The project took started in January of 2015 with Right Way painting the yellow background color. From there, we worked with their designer out of New York who took this design inspiration from the auto mechanic shops and their exterior sign designs, many of which was freestyle sign painting and hand lettering. Besides the hand lettering portion of this project, there was a photo of “Lou” that we needed to paint and make it look as real and authentic as possible. Our resident mural artist Chester did a remarkable job painting his photo at massive scale.

Radio FlyerSign Painting
Radio Flyer is an iconic American company that started in Chicago in 1917 and 100 years later, we had the honor and privilege of hand lettering one of their old fashioned vehicles last month. Our goal was to take their design and help make it as authentic as possible, giving it a human touch from a sign painter just like you would have seen if you were alive to see the real thing back in the early 1900s. Ches Perry, Right Way’s lead sign painter, took two days to work on this project.
Heritage BicyclesSign Painting
Heritage Bicycles, located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago specializes in custom handmade bicycles all within a coffee shop. Their brand is unique and everything about their retail store has an old fashioned, handmade look and feel. Right Way Signs was brought in to help with the design and painting of a custom piece for their exterior wall in addition to a few windows with custom gold leaf lettering and a blade sign.
The Flower FirmSign Painting
The Flower Firm located west of the Fulton Market District in Chicago approached us to sign paint their logo on their building and give it a distressed look to give the impression they had been in that building for 40 plus years, when in fact they had recently moved in.
We hand painted this custom logo at the Merchandise Mart showroom for Watson. The surface to be painted was a rough brick, so it was fitting to do a distressed painting to resemble a weathered / ghost sign that looked like it was painted by a sign painter decades decades ago.
Goose Island Beer Co.Sign Painting
One of our largest project to date, Right Way Signs of Chicago was awarded the contract for all interior and exterior signage at Goose Island Brewery’s new brewery tour experience at 1800 W. Fulton. The project included both exterior and interior signage focusing mainly on sign painting and custom mural work. The exterior work most notably focuses on big logo imagery, typography, reclaimed wood and metal, pulling in the feel of an old warehouse with the painting work having a “distressed” feel as if it was painted over 50 years ago. The Tap Room, where the tour begins and ends, has many different sign types. The “Lake Michigan” wall is made of reclaimed wood and has custom illustrations that the Right Way team hand painted in detail.
Jefferson TapSign Painting
The Jefferson Tap project was one of our favorites in 2014. For this project located right outside of the downtown Chicago area, we prepped and painted the entire facade of the building first. From there we painted their new logo and artwork in which Right Way Signs designed. In the end we gave this great building and establishment a lot more character with a sign painters touch.
Duke RealtySign Painting
We have painted some big signs throughout our 47 years of sign painting and and sign making, but the Duke Realty logo project is our largest to date. This logo, measuring at 190,000 sq/ft was painted by our own Ches Perry over the course of 4 weeks. Located in Atlanta, GA, this project is aimed at grabbing the attention of flights coming into the airport. The impressive thing about this project is that Ches mapped this all out by hand before painting it, no stencils were used.
Bom BollaSign Painting
Bom Bolla, located in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago was a fun project because it included a multiple sign types along side some great illustrations by design agency TrueStory. We started with exterior, hand painting their logo on the facade. On the windows we used vinyl graphics for the logo in each window. For the interior we did hand painted murals of Debbie Harry wearing a Popeye t-shirt and Mick Jones of The Clash on tile in the front and rear of the restaurant. We also did two exterior LED light box signs and etched window vinyl graphics.

We were hired to paint this massive logo for Big Blue Swim School on their wall in Buffalo Grove, IL. This hand painted logo was painted by Right Way sign painter Ches Perry, who has 48 years of sign painting experience.
